Flame wins licence

Flame Christian and Community Radio - once known as Flame FM on Wirral - has been awarded a full-time Community Radio Licence to broadcast on medium wave from the Wirral.

As Flame FM on Wirral, the group had previosuly been denied a licence due only to a lack of free FM frequencies in their target area.

The Ofcom announcement of the successful award states that "Flame Christian and Community Radio will serve the needs of Wirral Christians through radio broadcasting by people within the community. It will also broadcast to the community at large to increase awareness of the local Christian community, and to stimulate interaction between Christians and the community at large."
