Flame CCR started life as Flame FM on Wirral, broadcasting for the first time as part of the 2000 Millennium Year on a 28 day Restricted Service Licence (RSL).
The station continued to broadcast on RSL's twice a year until they submitted an application for a full-time FM Community Radio Licence.
Sadly, Flame's application was rejected on the sole grounds that their were not enough frequencies available. Ann indication that they would consider an AM licence in its place met with the response that they require to re-apply at the next licence round.
After a move of studio, Flame CCR is now in the process of making that AM licence application - which requires to be submitted by Tuesday 30 October 2007 - and are also investigating the possibility of Internet broadcasting.
